In 2024 iDiOM embarked on the ambitious plan to produce new translations of the major works of Anton Chekhov.

The cycle began with last season’s spring production of Uncle Vanya, newly translated by Moti Margolin and directed by iDiOM Artistic Director, Glenn Hergenhahn-Zhao.

This spring we launch our year two production: The Cherry Orchard which opens May 15 and runs through June 7 in Bellingham, WA.

Our love for Chekhov runs deep and we think the world always can use time with his starstruck and conflicted humans that he brought to life well over a hundred years ago.

Beyond being a joy to watch, Chekhov’s characters are a world unto themselves in the acting realm , and we look forward to building an ongoing ensemble of actors who train and work together, as we all navigate the Chekovian seas and learn what these plays have to teach us.
